The Influence of Ethnic and Cultural Diversity on Overall Life Satisfaction

Published May 2014 – Although the effect of ethnic diversity on levels of overall life satisfaction is a very important theme, the past studies related to this topic have focused on local or regional diversity. I explore these effects on a global scale, and expand them to include a variable for cultural fractionalization. Although I attempt to prove that greater diversity levels should increase life satisfaction, the data does not seem to support that claim. I will discuss the differences between my expectations and my findings, and finally examine the real world effects of these results.
